Seasonal Allergies: Nothing to Sneeze at

April 6, 2016Christina Nash

seasonal_allergiesAccording to the Mayo Clinic over 3 million people are treated for hay fever every year and, no doubt, countless other cases go unreported as well.

Hay fever affects the head, sinuses and throat and can cause a decrease in productivity and general malaise. Although seasonal allergies are the most common culprit, it is possible to suffer hay fever all year long.

Ouch.

Because it is not realistic to think a person can exist in this compromised state for months on end, an effective treatment plan is essential. Yet, with the myriad over-the-counter products on the market, it may take some trial and error to see which one(s) work best for your symptoms.

InstantPHR helps with that exploratory phase of self-treating. For instance, health journals help to track symptoms, sleep patterns and pain levels while on certain medications. By logging in this data, it is easy to see which medications, or combinations thereof, improve hay fever and overall quality of life.

Using the calendar feature you can track on a month, week or day view the correlation between the medications, symptoms and outcomes you experience in a color coded easy to read format.

The medication trackers also provide one place to store information on all current and discontinued drugs. That data is easily transformed into a report that can be given to your doctor of pharmacist to make more informed care decisions.

With all this data in one place, allergy sufferers can better track their symptoms and make changes to improve their health.
