After two long years of virtual conferencing, our team was itching to reconvene with industry leaders, partners and clients.
And they did just that the first two weeks of March at the ViVE Conference in Miami followed by HIMSS in Orlando.
“It was a bustling two weeks but you could feel the shared excitement of being together again,” said Get Real Health President, Robin Wiener. “While organizers have done an admirable job with more remote conferences during the pandemic, there is no substitute for that in-person experience and the synergy that comes from it.”
ViVE hosted its inaugural conference March 6-9th complete with an impressive line-up of speakers and an array of networking opportunities. ViVE was promoted as the “industry’s new health information technology event focused on the business of healthcare systems,’ and lived up to the billing.
Genie Saleh, our Director of Global Business Development summarized ViVE as “unique. From welcome mocktails at registration, colorful street artwork, and photo opps to the entertainment preceding welcome speeches, it all felt very relevant.” She added, “It showed that a conference can be productive from a business standpoint yet engaging and inventive. I was impressed with the new kid on the block!”
The most enduring of healthcare conferences, HIMSS, did have a smaller gathering last August but returned to full form March 14-18th. With approximately 25,000 attendees, HIMSS is still the largest trade show but may need to tweak the old formula with events like ViVE and November’s HLTH conference vying for post Covid-19 travel budgets.
While some exhibiting companies complained of slow booth traffic at HIMSS this year, the Get Real team was steady, spurred by a new product announcement and sought-after give-aways, there was rarely downtime.
That announcement, the debut of CHBase Unify, was the talk of the conference. CHBase Unify offers Digital Front Door solutions a comprehensive, unique focus on the care continuum with a patient, provider and hospital interface and generated excitement, productive conversations and demos.
“We were thrilled to see so many new faces stop by the booth to introduce themselves and talk about our products,” said Wiener. “We had some very productive initial conversations we are looking forward to following up on.”
Perhaps the most memorable moment came as a very crafty leprechaun visited the booth on St. Patrick’s Day. Even though it is less luck and more hard work and patient-focused determination that guide our product road map, our Jennifer Bowers played the role perfectly!
