Get Real Health Gears Up for National Health IT Week

September 11, 2014Christina Nash

NHIT-week

The 9th annual National Health IT Week is upon us. That’s right, between September 11th to the 19th an estimated 400 Health IT professionals will gather to reflect, discuss, and spread awareness about the necessity of advancing health through information technology at numerous panels, workshops and summits. Get Real Health is proud to be a partner with National Health IT Week.

This year Mark Heaney, CEO & Founder of Get Real Health, has been selected to speak on the Patient-Mediated Exchange Panel in the 4th Annual Consumer Health IT Summit hosted by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) on Monday September 15th.

The other panelists who will accompany Mark on Monday include Kansas Health Information Network’s Executive Director – Laura McCrary, OCHIN’s Chief Medical Informatics Officer – Tim Burdick, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Fellow – Gilbert Salinas.

Mark will primarily discuss how PHR and EHR developers can support patients accessing and using their health information, as well as the biggest challenges facing EHR and PHR developers related to patient-mediated exchange.

The panel begins at 1:20pm and will take place at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in Washington D.C. Around 300 people will attend the event in person, however for those unable to make it the panel will be webcast so stay tuned to hear what Mark has to say about patient-mediated exchange.

Senior Healthcare Strategist Christina Caraballo will also be speaking on Monday afternoon on behalf of Get Real Health. Christina will be one of the five panelist sharing Patient Engagement Success Stories. The speakers will be followed by a moderated Q & A where the audience is encouraged to ask any questions they may have.

Don’t miss out on these opportunities! Take a look of this year’s National Health IT Events. Be sure to follow @GetReal_Health on twitter for live updates throughout #NHITWeek!
