Rockville, Maryland – October 8, 2012 — Get Real Consulting (Get Real) was named third-place winner in the 2012 Blue Button® Mash Up Challenge sponsored by the Office for the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. The announcement came during the Health 2.0 6th Annual Fall Conference held October 7–10 in San Francisco.
Get Real’s submission demonstrated how their revolutionary product, InstantPHR™, helps organizations meet current government initiatives to advance Access, Action and Attitudes by empowering patients and providers with data-rich engagement tools. Through the Blue Button Mash Up Challenge, Get Real established that veterans, Medicare beneficiaries and other Americans not only have access to their data, but they can use it to become full partners in their own care through this customized Health Information Technology interface.
“We are thrilled to receive such an honor from The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology,” says Robin Wiener, Get Real’s president and founding partner. “The Blue Button Mash Up Challenge shows the power that data can bring when married together. The data, as well as a patient centric health application such as ours, is giving patients the tools and resources they need to meaningfully manage their healthcare,” says Robin.
InstantPHR™ enables patients to interact with their patient connected health application, both online and mobile based, bringing their data to life in real time so they can actively participate and collaborate with their health care providers, family members and approved third parties to improve their health. The user friendly interface encourages patients to track their health information and be their own health advocate, while aiding health care providers in coordinating care.
“InstantPHR™ isn’t only about the data,” says Wiener. “It’s about giving patients a tool for easily monitoring, tracking, and sharing his or her data with health providers and significant others to improve outcomes.”
This impressive win garners Get Real not only a $10,000 award, but also national recognition as Farzad Mostashari, MD, ScM, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at Health and Human Services, announces winners at Health 2.0. The winning video will be available via the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s posting on YouTube.
