This week is National Mental Health Wellness Week. This is a grass roots public education campaign focused on promoting mental health wellness across the country.
Through the Mental Health Wellness Week website, organizers can register to hold events in local communities aimed at education citizens about mental health wellness.
Mental health is very individualized. What one person finds stressful may not induce anxiety for another. Conversely, the destressing process is a unique experience from one individual to the next.
One of the main thrusts of Mental Health Wellness Week is the mind/body connection, Or in other words how taking care of the ourselves and utilizing our bodies as a tool for wellbeing and stress relief is vital to overall good health.
We at Get Real Health are proponents of this hand in hand approach to preventative medicine and chronic disease management.
But tracking all that data is time consuming for anyone, in particular those feeling challenged by current circumstances in their lives.
Our InstantPHR product was designed as a comprehensive wellness tool, offering the means to record mental and physical symptoms alike. More importantly, we have made it easy to do so with a user-friendly interface and colorful charts and graphs.
Experts agree that sleep and exercise are factors in mental wellness. InstantPHR’s journals take the stress out of tracking these two activities as they relate to moods.
For instance, a patient logging their hours of sleep, exercise habits and moods in an on-line journal may notice that they are happier for longer periods when they exercise at least 30 minutes a day. Or that sleeping at least 7 hours, leaves them feeling rested enough to get up and moving.
Lawson Health Research built their Smart Record solution on the InstantPHR platform. Smart Record is an application focused on enabling mental health patients to track moods, medications and care plans remotely. One patient referred to his Smart Record as “a lifeline.” The patient portal allowed this patient to live his life while staying connected with his providers in order to manage his mental health.
Taking care of yourself should not be another stress point in our increasingly scheduled and stressful days. With mobile apps and connectivity to health devices and trackers, InstantPHR takes the work out of maintaining both mental and physical health
