Get Real Health was front and center at The HL7 FHIR Application Roundtable in Washington, DC September 27 th-28th and FHIR Connectathon in Baltimore, MD September 29th-30th.
These two events started with the roundtable and two days dedicated to educating the healthcare industry about the power and maturity of HL7 FHIR.
The format consisted of short presentations/demos from providers, vendors, academic institutions, start-ups and individuals showcasing FHIR-based solutions that are in development or already being deployed
Our own Jason Harmon, CTO and founding partner, presented our CHBase platform during Day 1 of the event.
Jason was then joined by Ram Gokulachandran at the FHIR Connectathon. This Connectathon was a large scale, live, structured test environment for applications relating to FHIR.
Harmon explains that “the goal was to demonstrate that our platform can supplement traditional care coordination between clinicians by including the patient in the care plan and allowing the care plan definition to flow from EHR systems to the patient, and actions taken by the patient in our platform can flow back to the EHRs.”
Participants must choose a track (Patient, Provider etc) and set out to test the interoperability of a solution. The duo focused on the Care Plan track with the presentation showcasing the possibilities of seamless integration with the proper tools. During the Connectathon, Ram connected our CHBase platform to the other system to demonstrate an integrated care plan solution.
“I think this demo clearly shows how our products can be even more powerful when participating with other components of the health IT ecosystem, and that such integration is not overwhelming to reach when leveraging FHIR,” says Harmon.
