Health Datapalooza is the second largest health conference in the United States after HIMSS. Its purpose: liberating health data. This year, the annual event will be held in Washington, D.C. during the first week of June and will draw a myriad of health firms, startups, entrepreneurs, government agencies and academics from across the nation and overseas.
The two-day event includes a number of keynote presentations, data competitions, apps expo, code-a-thons, and other interactive sessions focused on health data applications.
Health Datapalooza will offer sessions in seven different tracks. Here is a list of sessions that we, at Get Real Health, are particularly excited to attend:

Blue Button Workshop
This workshop will provide new perspectives, tools and approaches to improve the way developers and other stakeholders approach a growing set of opportunities to address consumer needs.
Clinical Care Track
June 2, Monday, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
CC01: Creating Wellness Outside the Clinic – Looking to the Opportunities to Leverage the 95% of life that can have an impact on the 5% of clinical care – Swimming in Big Data
It will be interesting to learn how to define healthcare and data outside the clinical setting.
June 2, Monday, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
CC02: Integration of Patient Generated Data into HCP Clinical Workflow to Achieve Improved Outcomes
This session will discuss how incorporating patient-generated data into the workflow at the point of care allows for a collaborative approach to patient care. Patient engagement portals, like Get Real Health’s InstantPHR™, will be in the spotlight when the discussion focuses on extending care outside the walls of a clinic.

CC05: Emerging Delivery System Models and the Role of Data – Accountable Care Organizations and Beyond!
This panel shows how the best of clinical delivery improvement can be a great opportunity for setting data free.

CR03: Clinician – Data Infrastructure in Clinical Settings
A discussion about how clinical workflows will be geared to handle the flood of data in the future.
June 3, Tuesday, 10:20 – 11:20 a.m.
CR04: Clinician – Optimizing Patient Self-tracking
We anticipate this will be a particularly interesting session where the discussion will focus on the pros and cons of patient self-tracking. Healthcare organizations will present their view of the future of self-tracking as well.
June 3, Tuesday, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
CR05: Data Scientist – Extracting Data Forcefully From Bureaucracies
A session highlighting ways to effectively extract health data from various data platforms.
General Track
June 2, Monday, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
GL02: Unleashing Data to Enable Health System Change – An Update on CMS Data Tools and Products
This session is presented by CMS and will focus on new and updated CMS data and information products for researchers and health policy makers.
June 3, Tuesday, 10:20 – 11:20 a.m.
GL05: HHS Initiatives to Accelerate Use of Innovative Data Applications
Presented by the ONC, this session will detail how their technical standards enable people to access, use and display health information in new ways, how startups can build privacy and security into each layer of app development, and more.
June 3, Tuesday, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
GL08: Accelerating Widespread Collection and Use of Patient Reported Outcomes in Electronic Technology in the United States & United Kingdom
This session includes an opportunity to review patient-reported measures and a demonstration of patient-reported outcome (PRO) vendors.

BU04: The Role of Retailers in the U.S. Healthcare System
Pharmacists spend more time with patients than many other types of providers. This discussion will reveal how their knowledge of customers shapes their strategies to help people live healthier lives.
