Last week, as Get Real Health looked back on 20 years as a business, one thing was clear – there is no substitute for hard work and perseverance. These attributes were at the core of every lesson learned, shift in strategy, client signing and deployment.
In 2001, our founding partners could never have anticipated the rocky road that is small business ownership or the rewards that come with seeing a dream realized. Yet, that is exactly what they experienced and each would agree that the highs and lows have all been worth it.
“When we started the company that was to become Get Real Health 20 years ago, we had no idea how difficult, exciting, scary, rewarding, and exhausting it would be. If we did, I’m not sure we would have set foot on that path,” said founding partner, Mark Heaney. “But in retrospect, I can’t imagine a better way to spend a career or a better group of people to spend it with. It’s been the honor of a lifetime to watch the team grow and achieve great things over the last two decades.”
The hallmark of those two decades was a vision. Stakeholders and staff alike anticipated trends and focused on modular solutions to grow and change over time. After all, our first product, InstantPHR, was sketched on a napkin and now serves millions of people around the globe.
“Even before we shifted our focus to health solutions, we offered clients unconventional approaches to conventional problems through technology,” offered Robin Wiener. “We were not just thinking outside the box, we refused to acknowledge there was a box. It has been gratifying to see our vision improve lives and yield tangible benefits.”
Throughout the years, we have benefited and learned from our clients as well. Each project allowed us to improve upon our products and methodology; pulling from real-world experiences of the previous deployment to enhance and streamline the process.
“From a technology standpoint, we’ve excelled at the challenge of building a flexible, modular platform for patient-facing applications that enables us to quickly transform concepts and wireframes into relevant, consumer-friendly applications,” said CTO and founder Jason Harmon. “The cutting-edge solutions we’ve delivered for our customers over the years is a big point of pride. However, we are so much more than a healthcare technology vendor; we truly collaborate with our customers and welcome the opportunity to show them how our solutions can be used to achieve their goals and we guide them along the way.”
So what’s next?
“The past two decades – and 2020 in particular – have shown that we have only scratched the surface of our capabilities as an organization,” adds Robin. “Working side by side with our parent company, CPSI, as well as with our partners and clients we see a future bright with the mission of empowering patients and changing the way healthcare is delivered.’
Join us for a look back at 20 years.
“We have been blessed with tremendous employees over the years who became like family,” said Robin Wiener. “Not only was the work ethic impressive but they were just as invested in our success as I was. That kind of commitment is rare and very gratifying.”
